Table Of Contents

Within a playlist, the tracks to be played are added and evaluated. In addition, configuration options for silence can be defined here.

Tracks #

A new track is added using the Add Track button. After that, an audio clip is selected. You then manually weight which mood the track conveys. The closer a value is to one, the stronger that mood is represented.

To explain the process: a KD-tree is built from the tracks in the playlist, and the mood with the minimal distance to the global mood is selected. If multiple tracks have identical mood values, one of those tracks is chosen at random.

Silence #

As the name suggests, Silence allows you to define that no music should be played at times. To enable this, Silence must be active for the currently playing playlist.

Max Mood Vector:
It is generally assumed that the less intense a scene’s mood is, the more likely it is that no music should be played. The upper limit for this is defined by the Max Mood Vector. If the current mood is below this threshold, silence may be applied with the defined Max Probability.

Min / Max Duration:
The minimum and maximum length of time that silence should last. If the mood changes drastically, silence can also end earlier.

Max Probability:
The probability that silence is selected instead of a track.

Deactivate On Playlist Change:
If enabled, this ensures that music will always play when the playlist changes. This function was added to make sure that music is played when the application starts.
